"So…I realize you probably can’t understand most of what I’m saying, but I just wanted to thank you for not completely ditching me back there. Because you totally could have. So yeah. Gracias.”
I once started a series of fics set in the X-Men: Evolution verse starring the crazy misadventures of the loser boyfriends-who-aren’t-actually-(yet) and ended up borrowing the Ultimate comics idea of Mojoworld being a fucked up island prison camp death tournament for Shatterstar’s back-story.
Basically, the Institute sent some of the team in to answer a distress call on their way back from picking up Rictor (which was a terrible coincidence given the circumstances of his back-story). One thing led to another and somehow the boys ended up accidentally saving each other from some of the other inmates.
And thus a friendship was forged despite several language and behavioral barriers. \m/
(I feel like I should note that in keeping with the X-Men Evo theme, these two are somewhere around Jaime and Rahne’s age in the cartoon, which was about 12-14 I think.)
